Comprehensive, Easy-to-Use Medical Records
In many hospitals, only hard-copy patient medical records can be scanned and indexed. But powerful, simple-to-use FileCD Medical Records now makes it possible to capture and store patient information from almost any source: from scanned images and computer data (with form overlays for easy viewing), from PDFs, and from fax machines, scanners, and multi-function devices.
FileCD Medical Records also offers support for the HL7 interface – a message-based protocol that allows a seamless exchange of data between hospital systems. For example, a CPOE (Computerized Physician Order Entry) system can tell FileCD in real-time what drugs a doctor has ordered for a patient. Thus, healthcare professionals can be sure they have captured and recorded the most up-to-date information for every patient at all times.
Created specifically for hospital medical records departments, FileCD Medical Records combines the latest in document imaging, enterprise report management, barcode technologies, and secure Web access to store patient medical records online – ensuring instant, hassle-free access for all authorized personnel. FileCD Medical Records eliminates filing errors, increases productivity, reduces operating costs, supports secure access to patient data, and improves overall patient care.
How Does FileCD Medical Records Work?
FileCD Medical Records offers an easy-to-use, powerful way to collect and present all patient data, from the first moment a patient is seen by a physician, until the final treatment has been completed. FileCD Medical Records efficiently captures and stores all patient data – regardless of its source – in a single electronic file. The result: complete patient medical records that can be instantly accessed and viewed by all authorized personnel, just as easily as if they were looking at paper files.
First, FileCD Medical Records captures all incoming patient medical records, such as doctors’ notes, prescription forms, and laboratory results. Users can then locate the record via any associated demographic information, such as the patient’s name or Social Security number. Each time a folder is opened in FileCD Medical Records, users will be presented with an electronic face-sheet that shows up-to-date information about the patient, including blood type, date of last hospital visit, and allergies.
Next, FileCD Medical Records will present a new screen with two panes. The left pane offers a set of tabbed categories; the right pane shows the patient’s documents and data in a familiar Microsoft Outlook-style format. For example, when users click on a tab in FileCD Medical Records, the most current copy of the document will appear to the right. In this way, medical personnel can quickly view a patient’s entire history of laboratory records to determine if a particular test is indicated. FileCD Medical Records also makes it simple for users to create new documents (and add doctors’ notes) using the same interface.
FileCD Medical Records presents a comprehensive, end-to-end view of all patient interventions, and ensures instant access for all authorized users throughout your organization. FileCD Medical Records is proactive, too – it can generate comprehensive audit reports to help you detect any inconsistencies in a patient’s file in seconds.
